HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — Louis L. Gotta, 85, also known as “Jumbo,” died Nov. 15, 2013.
Lou was born in Bessemer, Mich., on Sept. 7, 1928, to Louis J. Gotta and Stella (Strom) Gotta. He attended Washington School until the 10th grade and was confirmed at Sharon Lutheran Church. The family moved to Detroit, where he completed high school and served in Korea in the U.S. Army.
Upon return, Lou attended the University of Detroit, and after completion he was employed by RCA and taught computers in the U.S. and Europe until his retirement.
His parents and a son, Robert, preceded him in death.
Lou is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marissa; three children by his first wife, Dan (Sandra) Gotta, Reno, Nev., Dianne (Les) Yingling, Lakewood, and Doreen (Gary) Griffiths, Beaumont, Calif .; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his sister, Virginia Kretschmar, and niece, Velda Spiller Sclafani, both of Ironwood; and nephew, Mark Spiller, of Gainesville, Fla.
Services will be at Christ Lutheran Church in Highlands Ranch.
Memorials can be given to Sharon Lutheran Church in Bessemer or our local hospice.
