Connie Sandquist

RAMSAY, Mich. - Connie Sandquist, 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013.

She was born in Wakefield on Aug. 27, 1927, the daughter of Mildred and James Delmet. Connie grew up in Wakefield and graduated from there in 1945.

On June 29, 1946, she was united in marriage to Fred Sandquist. They were married for 53 years until Fred's passing in 1998. They made their life in Ramsay.

Preceding Connie in death were her parents, Mildred, James and stepfather George Grigson; husband, Fred; brother, James Delmet; grandson, Brian Londo, granddaughter, Becky Londo, and grandson, Freddy Sandquist III.

She is survived by Linda (John) Lesky, Fred Jr. (Charli) Sandquist and Scott Sandquist; 10 grandchildren, Eric Sandquist, Bradley Londo, Mariah and Trenton, Deanna Murphy, Christin Pribek, Derrick, Stacey and Justin Sandquist and Amber Sandquist; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Connie was a perfect and loving mother, wife and friend, always smiling and enjoying her life, with never a negative word.

She loved gardening, knitting and especially traveling with Fred to see a country music show - hundreds of them.

She worked at Powderhorn during the 1990s with Fred. She spent the last few years at Gogebic Medical Care Facility and made many special friends there.

Her smile, love and friendly way will be missed by all who knew her.

Cremation has taken place.

A spring interment will be held and a celebration of Connie's life will be announced at a later date.
