IRONWOOD, Mich. - Paul F. Hannula, age 93, of Saxon, Wis., died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, in Ironwood. He was born Sept. 13, 1920, in Ironwood, son of the late Victor and Anna (Kumpula) Hannula.
On June 29, 1946, he was united in marriage with Mayme Taivalmaa in Hurley. She preceded him in death on Nov. 29, 2009.
Paul had farmed for many years in Saxon, and had worked at the Montreal Mine and then for White Pine Copper Company until his retirement. He was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Community Apostolic Lutheran Church in Kimball.
Paul is survived by one son, Dale (Lura) Hannula, of Bonita Springs, Fla .; two daughters, Paulette (David) Pease, of Pekin, Ill., and Linda (Dan) Wisneski, of Appleton, Wis .; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Paul was preceded in death by a brother, John; and nine sisters, Ina, Mayme, Ellen, Emily, Jenny, Ruth, Adele, Grace and Helga.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Community Apostolic Lutheran Church in Kimball. Rev. Norman E. Kangas will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Paul's family. Spring burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Saxon.
Paul enjoyed serving his Lord. His love of the Lord was demonstrated through his compassion and caring for others.
