GURNEY- Santa came early this year to Gurney.
Santa's arrival was announced not by jingle bells, but by the sound of the fire siren, and the kids got in line to tell him their dearest wishes and answer the question, "have you been naughty or nice?"
Santa visited with about 30 children and their families at the Gurney Community Center on Saturday. He arrived in a Saxon-Gurney fire truck, and brought sacks full of toys for the good girls and boys.
Santa, of course, knew exactly what each child wanted most, and had the gifts specially picked out by his elves, including special assistant Jessie Rowe.
The children waited patiently for him to make his yearly visit to the center, with some peeking out of the building to see if he had arrived yet.
After each child spoke with Santa, a lunch was served.
Children who missed their chance to visit Santa may call 951-262-3062.
