MERCER PUBLIC School faculty and staff who participated in a Movember fundraiser pose recently in Mercer, Wis. Movember, a global charity, aims to raise awareness and funds for men's health. Participants grow mustaches, or a "mo," and facial hair for the 30 days of November and become "walking, talking billboards" for men's health, according to Movember.com. Mercer participants included, from left, first row: Jerry Gross, Brian Baltz, Mark Benson, Zach Wilson and Josh Reed; second row: Tom Thompson, Vic Saeger, Dan Kiedrowski, Superintendent Erik Torkelson, Isaac Marcus, student John Klopatek, Grant Nelson and Bill Earl. The participants raised about $300 to donate to the cause. Movember supports world-class men's health programs that combat prostate and testicular cancer, according to its website.
