AURORA, Minn. — Robert C. Osborne “Ozzie,” 88, of Hoyt Lakes, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Essentia Health Northern Pines Hospital in Aurora, surrounded by his family.

Bob was born on Dec. 2, 1925, in Ironwood, Mich., to Richard and Keturah Osborne. He attended Ironwood schools and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1944.

In 1957, he married Julia Borowiec in Ironwood, and in 1958, they moved to Hoyt Lakes, where they raised their family.

Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Julia, of Hoyt Lakes; sons, Craig (Anne), of Antigo, Wis., and Tom (Becky), of Hoyt Lakes; daughter, Roberta (Bob Peterson) Osborne, of Ham Lake; Marj (Steve Blomster) Cox, of Duluth; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Hoyt Lakes, with the Rev. Steven Daigle as celebrant.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Military honors will be accorded by the Aurora/Hoyt Lakes Color Guard.

Burial will take place at a later date in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery.
