Gordon E. Buddle

LAKE VILLA, Ill. — Gordon E. Buddle, 80, of Lake Villa, passed away Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013.

He was born April 20, 1933, in Ironwood, Mich., the son of the late Richard and Mabel (Goodwin) Buddle, living in Hurley, Wis., and Waukegan for many years before moving to Orange City, Fla., and settling in Lake Villa in 2004.

Gordon enjoyed cheering on and watching his grandchildren’s activities, gardening, his M&Ms and rooting for the Green Bay Packers. Before his retirement in 1986, Gordon had worked more than 31 years at Johnson Motors as a machinist.

On July 7, 1956, he married Joanne Schuman in Ironwood. She preceded him in death on Aug. 15, 2010.

Survivors include two children, David (Sabrina) Buddle, of North Aurora, and Sheri Ori, of Antioch; nine grandchildren, Chadd, Melisa, Bianca and Olivia Ori, Drew, Alyssa and Joey Buddle, and Lauren and Will Rzeszutko; his siblings, Jo Ann Kuklinski, of Ironwood, Dean Buddle, of Rapid River, Mich., and Barbara Welch; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Jerry (Patti) Schuman and Judy (Dave) Kopp; and many nieces, nephews, friends and all who loved him at the Lakewood Towers in Lake Villa.

In addition to his parents and wife, Gordon was preceded in death by a sister, Grace; and a brother, John.

Memorial services will be held at noon on Monday, Dec. 23, at the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83), Antioch IL 60002, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.

Interment will be in North Shore Garden of Memories, North Chicago.
