WOODRUFF, Wis. — Elaine Gouza, 75, a 50-year resident of Land O’Lakes, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff.
She was born on Aug. 12, 1938, in Suring, to Alfred and Velma Yakel.
She was married to Ted Gouza on Nov. 27, 1965, in Land O’Lakes.
Elaine worked at the Hi Hat Restaurant and Hirn’s Grocery Store in Land O’Lakes. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, blueberry picking and her fishing trips to Canada. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family.
She was a member of St. Albert’s Catholic Church and their Altar Society, the VFW Auxiliary and the Red Hats.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Sam Yakel.
She is survived by her husband, Ted Gouza, of Land O’Lakes; daughter, Sue (Terry Carr) Gouza, of Milwaukee; sons, Peter (Denise) Gouza, of Lake Linden, Mich., and John (Amy Dallman) Gouza, of Wausau; brother, Denver (Carole) Yakel, of Watersmeet, Mich .; grandchildren, Nicole, Joshua, Kia, Lance and Holly; and great-granddaughter, Emily.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Land O’Lakes.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
