IRONWOOD, Mich. — Donald C. Anderson, 64, of 301 W. Larch St., Ironwood, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, in Ironwood.
He was born May 3, 1949, in Hurley, Wis., son of the late Kenneth and Oddny (Hagen) Anderson. Donald attended Ironwood schools, graduating from the Luther L. Wright High School with the class of 1967.
In 1972, he was united in marriage with Renee Lawver in Ironwood. Donald had worked at Cohodas-Paoli, White Pine Copper Company, and over the road as a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Renee, of Ironwood; one son, Greg (Sherri) Anderson, of Ironwood; two daughters, Jenny (Jeff) Velmer, of Colby, Wis., and Melissa (Craig) Cherney, of Spencer, Wis .; eight grandchildren, Benone, Olivia, Megan, Connor, Ryan, Dana, Kristy and Molly; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Ellie, with a third to be born soon; one brother, Eric Anderson, of Marshfield, Wis .; five sisters, Sally Abramson, of Ironwood, Susan Anderson, of Bergland, Dawn (James) Mylly and Jill (Kim) Kangas, both of Ironwood, and Laurie (Mark Wessa) Traczyk, of Wausau, Wis .; and numerous nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Anderson; one brother, Danny, in infancy; and one grandson, James Michael Velmer.
Cremation has taken place at the Range Crematory in Hurley.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m. at the Ketola-Burla Funeral Home in Ironwood. The Rev. Chips Paulson will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
