IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP - Eighty-five people took part in the last official snowshoe walk of the Superior Snowshoe Group under a beautiful moon at the Wolverine Ski Trails Wednesday.
"You could not have asked for a better evening," said Sam Davey, one of the event's organizers.
The last walk of the season was followed by a potluck, along with a cookout.
"Everyone brought some amazing food to pass around along with hamburgers, brats and hot dogs on the grill," Davey said. "No one went away hungry with all the great food and desserts."
There were also door prizes, a 50/50 raffle and a bonfire.
"The group would like to thank all the sponsors that make our snowshoe walks such a great success," Davey said. "Without them, it would not be what it is: Totally awesome."
