IRONWOOD, Mich. - Jeffrey Bryan Kasieta, 51, of Ironwood, passed away peacefully at home Friday morning, March 14, 2014, after a brave battle with a sudden illness.
He was born June 10, 1962, in Ironwood, son of Joseph and the late Jacqueline Anna (Lawler) Kasieta, attended Sleight School, and was a graduate of Luther L. Wright High School. He became a certified welder in Ontonagon. He was the owner and operator of an excavating company in the area for 10 years.
Jeff was a member of Laborers Local 1050 and Pipeliners Local 798 unions, where he worked off and on for 20 years. Jeffrey was also a self-taught computer guru. His most recent years were spent as a stay-at-home dad. He used most of his spare time studying the Bible and prophecies. Throughout his life he enjoyed, with friends and family, fishing, hunting, motocross racing, hockey, wrestling, football, muscle cars, operating heavy equipment and yard work. He had many skills, and will be greatly missed, as he had the ability to fix anything from cars to toys; you name it, Dad could fix it.
Jeffrey will mostly be remembered for his sharp personality, sense of humor, generosity, willingness to help others, and most importantly, his strong family beliefs. His strengths and values will be carried on by his descendants.
He married the former Cariann Marie Lindberg on Dec. 15, 1997. She survives.
