Clarence D. Negri

ASHLAND, Wis. — Clarence D. Negri, 77, of Bessemer, Mich., died Monday, March 31, 2014, in Ashland.

He was born Aug. 21, 1936, in Bessemer, son of the late Clarence T. and Helen (Johnson) Negri. He attended Bessemer schools and graduated from A.D. Johnston High School with the class of 1954.

On July 27, 1957, Clarence was united in marriage with Joan M. Corgiat at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2013.

Clarence served in the Ironwood National Guard from July 1954 until July 1983. For many years he was the owner/operator of C.D. Negri Oil Company.

He is survived by five sons, Roger (Sheila Kahila), of Wakefield, Mich., Ronald (Lisa), of Waterford, Ohio, Robert (Mary), of Bessemer, Randy, of Ironwood Township, Mich., and Ricky, of Bessemer; one daughter, Jill (Alan Dennis) Negri, of Bessemer; eight grandchildren, Meagan, Mathew, and Michala Negri, Anthony (Mariah) Negri, Jacob Negri, Jeremy (Melissa) Negri, Nathan (Jessica) Negri and Nicholas Negri; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pat (Don) Marcouiller, of Wakefield, and Barbara (Phil) Milroy, of Superior; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Clarence enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family.

In addition to his parents and wife, Clarence was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Paige.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 3, at 11 a.m. at the Frick-Zielinski Funeral Home in Bessemer. The Rev. Antony Lukka will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Spring burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer.

Arrangements are by Range Funeral Service and Crematory, Frick-Zielinski Funeral Home in Bessemer.
