KING, Wis. - Albert "Bert" Joseph Morzenti, 81, of Hurley, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the King Veteran Home in King.
He was born March 25, 1933, to Albert and Pauline (Cornetto) Morzenti in Montreal. He attended Montreal Grade School and Hurley High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. He was employed at the Montreal Mine, Milwaukee Park System, Shultz Trailer Factory and various construction jobs.
On March 9, 1957, Bert married Carol "Jeanie" Sokol. She preceded him in death on Aug. 4, 2003.
Bert enjoyed building log cabins and playing an occasional card or dice game.
He is survived by his two daughters, Susie (Don) Koivisto, of Saxon, and Kim (Jim) Youngs, of Hurley; two grandchildren, Cory (Amanda) Youngs and Derek Mildren; two great-grandchildren, Lily and Monica; four stepgrandchildren, Nikki Koivisto, Krissy Cole, Amanda (Scott) Niemi and Wendy (Mike) Zasadni; eight stepgreat-grandchildren, Alyssa, Justin, Hanna, Hailey, Donovan, Calli, Parker and Chelsea; three brothers, Ronald (Charlotte) Morzenti, of Oma, Robert Morzenti, of Montreal, and James Morzenti, of Ashland; two sisters, Karen (Dale) Sann, of Schofield, and Carolann (Tim) Boyle, of St. Augustine, Fla .; brother-in-law, Ronnie (Amy) Sokol; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bert was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Morzenti; sister, Caroline Morzenti; nephew, Brad Gasbarri; and brother-in-law, John Sokol.
Out of respect for Bert's wishes, cremation has taken place at the Holly Crematory in Waupaca.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Hurley.
