GOGEBIC COMMUNITY College's Entrepreneurial Center for Innovation and Development cofounders Ken Trzaska, GCC dean of instruction, and Beth Steiger, business faculty member, hold the "Connect" award from the annual Governor's Education Summit recently in Ironwood. The center won the award at the April 24 conference in Lansing for its innovative work, a news release said. The center was established in 2009 as a shared vision of GCC and local business and industry, providing students, local businesses and regional higher education institutions opportunities to connect around entrepreneurship. It offers the annual Idea Bounce event and various training and development programs, and has connected hundreds of people since it was established.
