BESSEMER - The Bessemer Area Sewer Authority's wastewater treatment plant will receive a roof replacement this summer.
BASA approved a bid on Thursday with Erickson Roofing in Bessemer to replace the plant's shingles and make other upgrades for $45,000.
An evaluation of the facility was conducted on May 22, and it was determined that a new roof was needed. There was no structural damage to the building.
The project is expected to begin shortly after July 4 and be finished by the end of the summer.
