Sleight slowly empties as faculty prepares for move

BOXES ARE loaded into the back of a truck during "moving day" at Sleight Elementary School in Ironwood Friday. Loading boxes to be moved to Luther L. Wright School are Sleight custodian Henry McPherson, elementary principal Nick Steinmetz and retired Junior ROTC instructor David Manki. LLW will become a K-12 school, while Sleight will continue to be open, housing the Gogebic County Community Schools and the Gogebic Ontonagon Intermediate School District 4-year-old Great Start Readiness Program.
