ONTONAGON, Mich. — Lloyd L. Buccanero, 86, of Ontonagon, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014, at the Aspirus Long Term Care Unit.
Lloyd was born on Nov. 19, 1927, to Jesse (McKie) and Louis Buccanero in Iron Belt, Wis.
He was a veteran of World War II. He enjoyed reading and playing cards with friends.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Claire (Morris) Buccanero; sister, Margaret Morello; brother, David; son, John; and special friend, Marlene “Tate Morrison” Blackorbay.
Lloyd is survived by five children, Sandy, of Farmington Hills, Marlene (Jim) Picotte, of Gwinn, Bonnie (Yogi) Picotte, Randy Buccanero and Jackie Dobbins, all of Ontonagon; six grandchildren, James (Heather) Picotte, Melissa (Shawn) Seymour, Mike (Hannah) Picotte, Tony Picotte, Dan Picotte and Kristy Dobbins; two great-grandchildren, Ari and Gigi Picotte; and his grand-dog, Mick. He is also survived by his sister, Maxine Zielinski; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Lloyd will be Saturday, July 5, at 1 p.m., with visitation at noon, at the Ontonagon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce Steinberg officiating.
Burial will be held at a later date.
A luncheon will follow the service.
