WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Devoted wife and mother Viola “Marge” Reichardt, 88, of Watersmeet, Mich., mercifully was granted life eternal with her Lord on Saturday July 5, 2014 in Winter Haven.
Marge was born July 28, 1925 to Hilda (Matilla) and Julius Helgren in Ironwood. On March 30, 1946 she was joined in holy matrimony to Rudy and their extraordinary love grew deeper for more than 67 years. They were blessed with 3 children through their remarkable journey together.
Marge was an incredible woman and homemaker. She embraced Rudy’s zest for hunting and fishing and knew how to prepare the best venison and fish dinners with her special touches.
She also enjoyed making jam, pies and baking her own homemade bread and pastries. She was always willing to donate her homemade goodies for church bake sales and was actively involved in women’s functions at Hope Lutheran Church.
Marge also had a talent for the piano and organ and would serve at church when the need arose. Marge loved singing and would participate in solos and loved her involvement with the church choir.
Marge is survived by son, Robert (June) Reichardt of Columbus, Ohio .; daughter, Kathi (Ken) Carufel of Winter Haven, Fla .; brother, Clarence (Helen) Helgren of Venice, Fla .; sister, Karen (Lloyd) Anderson of Venice, Fla .; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, Rudy; father and mother, Julius and Hilda; sister, Evelyn (Bob) Workman; brother, Charles (Carole) Helgren; and loving daughter, Yvonne (Dan) Hall.
A gathering to honor Marge’s life will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Land O’Lakes, Wis.
Marge will be laid to final rest at Watersmeet cemetery along with husband Rudy and daughter Yvonne. What an incredible miracle for them to join together for the last time on God’s great earth.
Our family is forever grateful for her nurturing ways, support, guidance and above all, her love. She will walk beside us the rest of our days and will always be remembered for her gifts of kindness, generosity, and never failing love.
A heartfelt thanks to all who prayed for our family, sent cards, letters and loving support.
Also many thanks to Ketola-Burla Funeral Home for arrangements and Peter Burla for his assistance and genuine compassion during this difficult time.
