Daniel J. Mahoney

WHEELING, Ill. — Daniel J. Mahoney, 88, of Wheeling, passed away, April 27, 2014, in Wheeling, after suffering a stroke.

Dan was born in Chicago on Aug. 1, 1935. He moved to Ironwood and lived there for many years. He returned to the Chicago area when his health declined, to be near his family.

He is survived by his brothers, John, James, David (Ann) and Dennis (Debbie); sisters, Helen (John) Waters, Patricia (George) Leicht, Maryetta (Kim) Knebel and Debra (Richard) Nevell; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Fairy Mahoney; sister, Phyllis Marks; and brothers, Robert, Edward and Richard.

Services were held at Divine Infant Catholic Church in Westchester, Ill.
