DULUTH, Minn. — Thomas Vern Carl Zielke, 58, of Glidden, Wis., died Friday, June 27, 2014, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, Minn.
Tom was born on Nov. 4, 1955 in Ashland, Wis. He was the son of Vernon and Patricia (Carl) Zielke. He graduated from Glidden High School in 1973 and attended Northland College.
On Aug. 4, 1979, he married Sally Dissmore in Glidden.
Tom owned and operated Tom Zielke Logging Company.
He enjoyed fishing with his family in Canada, hunting, grilling, the outdoors and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Tom was an active member of the Glidden Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sally, Glidden, Wis.; his father ,Vernon Zielke, Park Falls, Wis.; his father-in-law, Rev. Roger Dissmore, of Whitehall, Wis.; 13 children, Samuel, Phillips, Wis., Charity (Nathaniel) Doucette, Washburn, Wis., Josiah (Amy), Naples, Fla., Gabriel, Superior, Wis., Jubilee, Springfield, Mo., Malachi, Superior, Wis., Hosanna, Elijah, Elizabeth, Tryphena, Michael, Barnabas and Jehiel, all of Glidden, Wis.; six grandchildren, Eva, Ian, Bryce, Annalise, Jordan and Kylee; a brother, Michael (Sharon), Glidden, Wis., a sister, Nikki (Bill) Jones, Bloomington, Minn.; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia; his infant son, Israel, and his mother-in-law, Marie Dissmore.
The Novitzke Funeral Home assisted the family.
