ROSWELL, Ga. - Margaret Alma (Sedlock) Mayer Mascotti, 99, of Roswell, formerly a longtime resident of Bessemer, Mich., passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 8, 2014.
Margaret was born on July 16, 1915, the third of eight children to Joseph and Mary Sedlock of Negaunee, Mich.
On Jan. 12, 1946, she was united in marriage to Leonard L. Mayer. The young couple made their home in Bessemer.
Margaret and Leonard were members of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer, where she was a member of the Legion of Mary for many years.
Leonard passed away on Sept. 23, 1966.
On Jan. 6, 1968, Margaret married Silvio Louis "Scotty" Mascotti.
For many years, they spent the winter months in Georgia and the summer months in their home on Black River Road in Bessemer.
Margaret and Silvio were members of St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell, and faithful volunteers with Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home in Atlanta.
Silvio passed away on March 6, 2008.
Margaret is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Millard, Fond du Lac, Wis., and Mary Frances (Robert) Anderson, Saginaw, Mich .; as well as many loving Sedlock, Mayer and Mascotti nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10:30 a.m., at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, with the Rev. Antony Lukka, celebrant.
Rite of Committal and interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Bessemer.
Luncheon will be served in Father Swoboda Hall at the church immediately upon return from the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, 760 Pollard Blvd., SW, Atlanta GA 30315.
