WAUSAU, Wis. - June E. Popko, 88, of Mercer, Wis., died Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, in Wausau.
June was born June 5, 1926, in Endlee, S.D.
June retired from Simpson Electric in Mercer after 30 years.
June attended the Wausau School of the Deaf, where she met her sweetheart, Robert E. Popko. They married on Dec. 28, 1957.
June is survived by two sisters, Betty Daul and Patty Hytry; a grandson, Shawn Libertoski, who serves in the Army, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas; two sons, Robert J. Popko, Worth, Ill., and Emil E. Popko, Charleston, S.C.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; a sister, Norma Taylor; and parents Norman and Ethel Bossell, of Mosinee, Wis.
The services will be held in Woodruff, Wis., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah on Friday, Aug. 22, at 4 p.m. Her final resting place will be at the Mercer cemetery, where she be placed next to her sweetheart, Robert.
She led a life full of love and cared about everyone. June had a wonderful journey, she loved to laugh and make those around her enjoy the funny side of life. She was always positive and once you met her she became a part of you that you carried forever. Your sons will carry on and send out your love every day; you will be missed.
