SPRINGSTEAD, Wis. - Mary Ann Kramer, 79, of Springstead was called by the Lord to eternal life on Monday, Aug. 18, 2014.
Mary Ann was born on March 25, 1935 in Park Falls, Wis., the daughter of Alois and Delia (nee Boyer) Fenzl.
She attended St. Anthony's School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953. She received her teaching degree at the University of Wisconsin and Northland College in Ashland, Wis.
In her early years, she taught grade school in Beloit, Wis., and Robbinsdale, Minn. She met Dick Kramer in 1968 in Park Falls; they started dating and married two years later.
In 1970, Mary taught second grade in the old Washington School on Highway 13. Four years later, she became the librarian at the new elementary school in Park Falls. After 24 years of service, Mary retired in 1998.
She was very active in community service. She was a member of Price County Retired Teachers Association, Springstead Sparks and spent many years with the Gray Ladies at Park Manor. She also worked at the Sparks Resale Shop for many years.
Some of her favorite pastimes were kayaking on Springstead Lake, riding her bicycle and walking. In the winter months she enjoyed snowshoeing and skiing.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Kramer, Springstead; four brothers, Robert Fenzl, O. Praem.-Catholic Priest of St. Norbert Abbey, DePere, Wis., Lawrence Fenzl, William (Pauline) Fenzl and James (Cecelia) Fenzl all of Park Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alois and Delia Fenzl; a sister, Dorothy Schwartz; a brother-in-law, Edward Schwartz, and her sister-in-law, Kathryn Fenzl.
Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Park Falls, with a memorial gathering from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
