WOODRUFF, Wis. - Jean Ann Chapman, 70 of Lac du Flambeau, and formerly of Green Bay, died on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff.
Jean was born on June 10, 1944, in Green Bay, the daughter of Bernard and Phyllis (nee Mason) Vanden Plas. Jean graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1962. She married Carl Chapman Sr. on July 17, 1962. She worked for Lamers Bus Company for many years and retired in 2003.
Jean was very creative with an eye for detail which showed in her crafting and sewing projects. She loved her hosta and lily gardens and had an outgoing personality. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Sr., of Lac du Flambeau; her children, Carl Jr., of Neenah, and Ann (Scott) Chapman-Narten, of Manitowoc; her beloved grandchildren, Blair Hill, Hannah Hill, Carl Chapman IV, Shelby Narten and Garrett Narten; her brother, Richard (Marlene) Vanden Plas, of Green Bay; brother-in-law, Ken Jacobson of Ironwood, Mich .; and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Bernard and William.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m., at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff, with burial at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Arbor Vitae. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
