Fresh food

CHERYL GRANSEE, cook for the Mercer School District, accepts fresh vegetables from students in Mary Fitzgerald's kindergarten class to use for lunch on Wednesday at the Mercer School. The vegetables were picked from the Mercer Community Garden after students helped plant seeds in the spring with Joy Schelble and Deb Leonard, of the Iron County University of Wisconsin Extension office. Presenting the vegetables are Justin Heleniak, Charles Watts, Gransee holding Logan Pischer, Cadance Castillo (kneeling), Kaylee Powers (standing), Annabelle Payen (kneeling) and Lia Kiedrowski (standing).
