Lou Ellen Selves

WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Lou Ellen Selves, 67, a native of Iron Belt, Wis., died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield.

She was born March 8, 1947, in Iron Belt, daughter of the late Lyle and Margaret (Jenkins) Selves, and graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in Hurley, Wis. in 1966. She resided in Wausau, Wis., most of her adult life, returning to the area in 2007.

Lou Ellen loved little children and animals. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and swimming, and was an excellent cook.

Surviving are a sister, Lorraine (Del) Tervo, Ironwood Township; two brothers, Roger (Shirley) Selves, Pence, Wis., and Ronald (Joan) Selves, Mosinee, Wis .; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Ward Peterson; a sister, Lee Ann Zandi; and brother-in-law, Donald Zandi.

Per Lou Ellen's wishes, cremation has taken place.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in Ironwood, with the Rev. Craig Zandi, Lou Ellen's nephew from Ladysmith, Wis., officiating.

Committal and inurnment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Iron Belt.
