WATERSMEET — The Mercer volleyball team defeated Watersmeet 3-0 in non-conference action Monday at Nimrod Nation.
The Tigers won 25-11, 25-15, 25-15.
Lexi Engler led the Mercer attack with 13 kills.
Caitlyn Hiller had a strong game for the Tigers with five kills, five aces and 21 assists.
Sydney Thompson added nine kills, nine assists and two aces for Mercer. Taylor Wolfe had four kills.
For Watersmeet, Rebecca Caron played well for the Nimrods with several solid blocks putting the ball back down in Mercer’s court. Frannie Zelinski added five kills.
Mercer (15-2) finishes Indianhead Conference East Division play at Bessemer Thursday. The Tigers are 5-0 in the division.
The Tigers will begin WIAA regiona play Oct. 21.
Watersmeet goes to Baraga today for more non-conference action.
