Fire damages Mattson Family Chiropractic in Ironwood

SMOKE BILLOWS out the entrance of Mattson Family Chiropractic on Ayer Street in Ironwood on Friday afternoon. A fire started inside the building around 2 p.m. Ironwood Public Safety Department firefighters were quickly on the scene. Mattson said she wasn't working on Friday afternoon, when an adjusting table spontaneously caught fire and the cleaning lady noticed flames shooting up. "She called 911 and the fire department responded quickly and got it out, but there's a lot of smoke damage," she said. Mattson said a damage assessment is being made and the business will probably be closed for a minimum of a few days.
