BERGLAND, Mich. - Jeffrey Phillup Marczak, Bergland, Michigan, left this earth with his loving wife by his side on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014.
Jeff was born on April 26, 1949, in Wakefield, to Frank P. and Mary (Babich) Marczak. He was raised in Anvil Location with his seven siblings. He attended Ramsay School, A.D. Johnston High School and graduated from Hoyt Lakes/Aurora High School in Minnesota.
Jeff went on to Staples Technical School where he got a degree in diesel mechanics. After returning to Michigan, he worked at White Pine Mine for 27 years.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Jean Marczak; his stepson, Chuck and his wife Brittney; plus seven siblings, Frank (Marlene) Marczak, Peter (Susan) Marczak, Fran (Lee) Belmas, Tim (Darlene) Marczak, Sheila (John) Begalle, Marietta Appner and Mark Marczak; his in-laws, Eugene and Alice Johnson, Peggy Myaard (Ed), and Steve. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Despite numerous health issues the last few years, Jeff could still smile and continued to inform us of the current weather conditions. Jeff's special blessing to so many was his capacity for compassion, to foresee others' needs and be the first one there to eagerly offer help. Kindness was his gift.
Some of Jeff's favorite times were spent listening to polka music around the bonfire with his family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at the St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer at 11 a.m. Rev. Antony Lukka will be the celebrant. Jeffrey's family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church on Monday.
Range Funeral Service and Crematory and the Frick-Zielinski Funeral Home of Bessemer has been entrusted with funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to [email protected].
