BESSEMER, Mich. — Eleanore M. Fiori, 88, a longtime Bessemer resident, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, in Wakefield. She was born July 27, 1926, in Ramsay, daughter of the late Oscar and Hilda (Vick) Julien.
Eleanore was a graduate of the A.D. Johnston High School, Class of 1944. On May 25, 1946, she was united in marriage with Seraphino “Sars” Fiori at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Ironwood by Monsignor Moriarty. Sars preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1995.
For many years, Eleanore and Sars owned and operated Fiori Beverage Company in Bessemer. She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer.
She is survived by three sons, Dan (Tammy) of Bessemer, Ron (Betty) of Green Bay, Wis., and Don of Alpharetta, Ga .; three daughters, Christine (Bob) McDermott of DePere, Wis., Eleanore Fiori of Marquette, and Paula (Bruce) Beckman of Norton Shores; and one daughter-in-law, Nancy Fiori of Bergland. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, Angela Fiori, Jessica Kiser, Amanda Miskovich, Cynthia Fiori, Michael McDermott, Kerri McDermott, Casey McDermott, Marsha Mazanecz, Melissa Fiori, Sera Baird, Serena Peskie, Eric Fiori, Mark Fiori, Nick Fiori, Mike Fiori, Jennifer Fiori, Laura Fiori, Sean Beckman, and Alison Smith; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Eleanore was preceded in death by one son, David, on Oct. 26, 2011.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer. Father Antony Lukka will be the celebrant. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Spring burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Gogebic Medical Care Facility activity fund.
The family would like to thank Dr. Pogliano and the staff of Gogebic Medical Care Facility for their fine care during the past three years.
