PHOENIX, Ariz. - Leonard Anderson, 54, passed away unexpectedly at the John C. Lincoln Hospital in Phoenix due to a sudden illness on Dec. 28, 2014.
He was a resident of Ironwood, Mich., throughout his younger years. He attended Roosevelt and Norrie elementary schools, and L.L. Wright High School in the 1960-70s and then joined the U.S. Army before graduating.
Leonard was an avid outdoor sportsman. He was a big fan of the Detroit sports teams. He loved to travel a lot. He spent a lot of time with his wife, his brother and his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Anderson and brother, Del Anderson, both of Phoenix; his children, Rana (Kelly) Ketchum, Kathleen (Don) Henson and Chris Shores; six grandchildren, including Robert Henson, who was very close to Leonard; and several great-grandchildren.
Leonard was proceeded in death by his mother, Sally (Stuhr) Grandahl; father, Leonard M. Anderson, and his grandparents.
Leonard will be dearly missed by his remaining family, friends and numerous relatives.
Memorial services were held at Best Funeral Services in Phoenix, Arizona on Jan. 3, 2015.
