RAMSAY, Mich. - Roger A. Radowski, 66, a longtime resident of Ramsay, passed away suddenly Friday, Jan. 9, 2015.
He was born on Aug. 6, 1948, in Wakefield, the son of Joseph W. and Catherine (Bendotti) Radowski. Roger attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1966. He attended Gogebic Community College and continued his education at Northern Michigan University graduating in 1971.
On June 19, 1971, Roger was united in marriage to Loralee Miljevich at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wakefield. They made their home in Ramsay and were blessed with a son.
He enjoyed sports and coached numerous baseball teams on the Gogebic Range.
Roger was a very caring and kind man, who helped out with countless fund raisers for church, school and civic organizations.
In earlier years, he worked for White Pine Copper Company and was currently employed by the Miljevich Corporation. Roger loved working with his son each and every day.
In his spare time, he found enjoyment traveling with his family and friends.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Loralee; a son, Blane (Ashley), Wakefield; a future grandchild, due to be born June 2015; two sisters, Renee Radowski, Wakefield, and Rachelle (Michael) Egan, Glendale, Ariz .; his mother-in-law, Kathleen Miljevich, Wakefield; his brother-in-law, Mike (Janet) Miljevich, Wakefield; a nephew, Joseph Egan, Flagstaff, Ariz .; and a host of special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dennis Dean, in infancy; and his father-in-law, Eli Miljevich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 9:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wakefield, with the Rev. Fr. Antony Lukka as celebrant.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Miljevich, Gary Miljevich, Michael Egan, John Racovitis, John Racovitis Jr. and Dennis Anderson.
A reception will be held at the Wakefield Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9084 following the Mass.
Rite of Committal and interment will take place at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
