Today's Powerball jackpot has increased to $380 million, making the cash option for the jackpot nearly $257 million, according to the Michigan State Lottery. If a Michigan player wins the jackpot, which hasn't been won since a Washington state woman claimed the prize on Nov. 29, 2014, it would be the largest lottery prize won in the state. Michigan's current record is held by Donald Lawson, of Lapeer, who won a $337 million Powerball jackpot in August 2012. Tickets for today's drawing can be purchased until 9:45 p.m. A retail agent in Ironwood said Friday night sales had been more brisk for Friday night's Mega Millions drawing, worth $49 million, than tonight's Powerball.
