Read Across America

MICHIGAN STATE Trooper Bill Witt is shown reading to a group of Ontonagon Area Schools elementary students recently as part of the annual Read Across America program. Each year, schools across the country celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss (Theodore Gisele) with events designed to excite and encourage students to read. Trooper Witt was the first in a line of guest readers from local law enforcement agencies that were recruited by Paula Domitrovich at the request of the OASD Library.
