Hurley starts track-and-field season

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Hurley's Aiyana Nickel started the track-and-field season with a win in the 200-meter dash at Thursday's Tomahawk Indoor Invitational at UW-Eau Claire.

She finished the race in 29.34 seconds. She also placed in the long jump (fourth) and triple jump (seventh).

Susan Walesewicz finished seventh in the 1,600 run.

The Hurley girls took ninth as Tomahawk won the meet.

The Hurley boys finished 10th while Black River Falls won.

Kris Bluse led the Midgets with a third-place finish in the high jump. He was also fifth in the 55 hurdles and sixth in the triple jump. Luke Marczak took fourth in the 400 run and sixth in the 55 hurdles. Scott Subert was sixth in the 400 run and Adam Hendricks was sixth in the long jump.
