Joki, Hudacek winners at Northland Pines indoor meet

EAGLE RIVER, Wis. - With snow falling back home Thursday, Ironwood, Wakefield-Marenisco and Watersmeet went inside to Northland Pines to start their track-and-field season.

Class A Marquette dominated both the boys and girls meets.

Ironwood was sixth in the girls with W-M seventh and Watersmeet eight. The Ironwood boys were fifth, W-M seventh and the Nimrods eight.

The Red Devils' Jared Joki edged Northland Pines' Kody Radtke by a quarter of a second to take the 800-meter run, the only individual event he ran.

Ironwood's Rachel Hudacek won the high jump at 4-10. Teammate Vanessa Nasi also cleared 4-10, but Hudacek won the tiebreaker, which was fewer misses on the last height cleared.
