SEATTLE — Geraldine M. Korri, 55, formerly of Ewen, Mich., passed away on March 8, 2015, at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System in Seattle, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous 17-year battle with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia.
Geraldine was born in Wakefield, Mich., to Bruce and Gloria Korri on April 16, 1959. She graduated from Ewen-Trout Creek High School in 1977. She had an associate degree in fire protection technology, Bachelor of Arts degree in recreation and conservation and a master’s degree in Chinese medicine. She worked at Fed Ex in Lacey, Wash., for the past six years.
Geraldine was a veteran in the U.S. Air Force from 1986-1994 where she was a bomb and missile loader on the Wild Weasel Bomber and a radar systems data quality monitor. She received the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with an Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, NCO Professional Graduate Education Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksman Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon and served in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Geraldine is survived by her sister, Susan, of Marquette, Mich .; brother, Bruce (Marta), of San Antonio, Texas; niece, Dawn (Joe) James, of Austin, Texas; nephew, Bryan (Natasha), of San Antonio; great-nieces, Amelia James and Kirra Korri; an uncle, Lester (Nancy) Carlson; aunts, Elaine Essig, Edith Bezotte, Marie Brown and Alice (Clarence) Linna; as well as many cousins.
She loved the outdoors, skiing, fishing, hiking, camping and biking. Geraldine enjoyed exploring the natural and alternative health field through her acupuncture and healing. She was able to reach many people in her own creative way through her connection to be open to blend a holistic approach to life.

Interment with military honors will be held at a later date at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Haight Township.
