HURLEY, Wis. - After a brief but vicious battle with cancer, Vivian Edward "Eddie" Revoyr Jr. died on April 2, 2015, in Hurley, at the age of 52. He leaves behind his wife, Andrea Kornwolf Revoyr; his daughter, Chanel Revoyr; and his beloved son, Griffen Revoyr.
Eddie was born on October 24, 1962, in Antigo, to father Vivian Edward Revoyr Sr. and mother Elizabeth Teresa Bertels. He grew up in a loving family with three older sisters, Mary Helmbock (Peter), Teresa Revoyr (Dirk Pfeil) and Louise Revoyr.
Following the death of Eddie's father in 1964, the family relocated to Ironwood, Mich. Eddie was an avid and talented athlete. As a child, he was a pitcher and first baseman in Little League. At Ironwood High School he played varsity basketball sporting the number 44 and was a valuable Red Devil. He also set many records in track and field, some of which still stand today.
Eddie enjoyed working with trucks and heavy machinery. He was employed by the City of Ironwood in the water department from 1987 to 1999. He then had the opportunity to work for Northwoods Paving as a hot roller where he continued until July 2014. He was a member of the Union of Operating Engineers. He respected and admired his coworkers on his jobs and referred to them as his "second family."
Eddie loved the beauty of the U.P. and being outdoors. He was very community conscious, volunteering to work with kids on basketball teams, icing the oval track for the snowmobile races and helping neighbors with snow blowing and grass cutting.
A celebration of life will be held in the summer for friends and relatives to pay their respects and to honor our beloved Eddie.
