IRONWOOD, Mich. - Gail L. Choronzy, 65, of Ironwood, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, April 18, 2015.
Gail was born March 15, 1950, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Wallace and Lorraine (Rajala) Lehto. She attended Ironwood schools, graduating from the Luther L. Wright High School with the class of 1968. On May 9, 1970, she was united in marriage with Lawrence J. Choronzy in Ironwood.
Gail had been employed at Josephson's Nursing Home She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood. She was also a member of the Norrie Amateur Sports Club.
She is survived by her husband, Larry, of Ironwood; two sons, Keith (Jennifer) of Grantsburg, Wis., and Kurt (Michelle) of Bessemer; two grandsons, Tyler of Ironwood, and Wyatt of Bessemer; two granddaughters, Kayla of Ironwood, and Emma of Bessemer; one great-grandson, Bentley of Ironwood; three brothers, Gary (Fern) Lehto of Portland, Ore., Randy (Clovia) Lehto and Todd Lehto of Ironwood; six sisters, Joy (Hannu) Venetjoki of Ironwood, Debbie (John) Blank of Great Falls, Mont., Darlene (Kathy) Gray of Alexandria, Ky., Sharon (Comelo) Switzer of Bessemer, Diane (George) Goerig of Billings, Mont., and Joanne (Scott) Carlson of Ironwood; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Cremation has taken place at the Range Crematory in Hurley.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood. Rev. Kurt Kovanen will officiate. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Private online condolences may be sent to rangefsi@up.net.
