HURLEY, Wis. — Helen Muhonen Martin, 90, of Ironwood Township, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015, in Hurley. She was born Sept. 13, 1924, in Ironwood Township, daughter of the late John and Helmi (Pasanen) Muhonen.
As a young woman, Helen lived in many places throughout the world, including California, Europe and Japan. She had a long career as a bookkeeper and tax preparer. Helen was also a longtime supporter of the Historic Ironwood Theatre, both as an employee and volunteer.
She is survived by two sons, John Martin, of Virginia, and David Martin, of Hawaii; a daughter, Maria Martin, of North Carolina; six grandchildren; and a brother, Clifford Muhonen, of Wakefield.
At Helen’s request, cremation will take place and no formal services will be held.
Her family would like to thank the staff of Regional Hospice and Sky View Nursing Center who cared for Helen with loving kindness.
Memorial contributions can be made to Regional Hospice and the Historic Ironwood Theatre in honor of Helen.
