IRONWOOD - Children gathered around for story time at Burger King on Wednesday.
As part of Ironwood Carnegie Library's "Every Hero Has a Story" reading program, Assistant Director Lynne Wiercinski read the popular children's book "The Bog Baby."
Written by Jeanne Willis and illustrated by Gwen Millward, the story tells the tale of two sisters who go fishing together. While fishing, they come across a bog baby and secretly take it home with them. Over time, they come to realize that, if you really love something, it's best to set them free.
Wiercinski said it's important for children to read as soon as possible.
"The earlier you can get kids interested in reading, the better," she said.
When the story was over, the children made their own bog babies, got a free treat and played in the play area.
In the future, Ironwood Carnegie library will have story time at Burger King every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. until August.
