WAKEFIELD, Mich. – Martha J. DaPra, 98, of Wakefield, passed away Saturday morning, June 20, 2015.
Martha was born on March 19, 1917, in Wakefield, a daughter of Frank and Agnes (Patyk) Skolasinski. She attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1935.
On June 21, 1941, Martha was united in marriage to Peter Charles DaPra in Wakefield.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wakefield.
Martha was employed by Divine Infant Hospital until its closure and then worked part-time at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility.
Martha is survived by three sons, Joseph and Robert (Mary Beth), both of Wakefield, and Gerard (Susan), Wrenshall, Minn .; a daughter, Christine (David) Kowalski, Titus, Ala .; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Veronica Skolasinski, Wakefield; her sister-in-law, Veronica Skolasinski, Wakefield; her brother-in-law, Wallace Costenaro, St. Johns, Ill .; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Peter, on April 9, 1991; three brothers, Edward, Joseph and Zigmund “Chippy” Skolasinski; and a sister, Valerie Costenaro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 25, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Antony Lukka, celebrant.
Rite of Committal and interment will take place in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
Her family will serve as pallbearers.
Lunch will be served in the downstairs of the church following the cemetery service.
