BESSEMER, Mich. - Robert J. Delich, 83, of Bessemer, formerly of Wakefield, passed away peacefully late Tuesday evening, July 14, 2015.
Robert was born on Aug. 12, 1931, in Wakefield, a son of Michael and Jennifer (Vukobradovich) Delich.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Robert was known as "the Bull of the Woods" and built his logging company to provide for his family.
On Oct. 28, 1960, he was united in marriage to Ruth Adele Karling.
Robert is survived by his eight children, Robert (Lisa) Delich, Wakefield, Betsy (Bryan) Delich-Gerondale, Mequon, Wis., Jennifer (Tony) Gheller, Bessemer, Dana (Steven) Elias, Suamico, Wis., Scott (Vanessa) Delich, Wakefield, Barbara, Ironwood, Mitchell (Misty) Delich, Wakefield, and Jason (Caroline) Delich, Ironwood; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lillian; his sister-in-law, Marilyn Karling, who resided with Robert and Ruth; and other loving relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Ruth, on Dec. 14, 2007; and many brothers and sisters.
Cremation has already taken place.
A private family service will be held.
Interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
