MONTREAL, Wis. - Austin Thomas Ahola, 17, of Montreal, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at home.
He was born Oct. 3, 1997, in Duluth, Minn., the son of William and Patricia (DeZur) Ahola. A gifted and talented student, he was currently completing all of his high school studies at the Hurley K-12 school and was enrolled in the Youth Options Program at Northland College in Ashland. He was also a member of the National Honor Society.
Austin loved downhill skiing, bike riding, going to the movies and spending time with his friends and family. He recently enjoyed a wonderful trip overseas with his mother to visit friends in London and Paris. He loved the Lord and believed in Angels with all of his heart and soul.
Surviving are his parents, William and Patricia Ahola, Montreal; sister, Ashley (Raun) Howell, Little Rock, Ark .; maternal grandmother, Mary DeZur, Hurley; niece, Sadie Isabelle Howell; nephews, Byraun and Brandon Howell; aunts and uncles, Shirley (David) Smith, Helena, Mont., Linda (Dan) Wisneski, Appleton, and Lenora Staszek, Aurora, Minn .; cousins, Heather (Eric) Hillman and Christopher Smith, Denver, Colo., Tracy (Randy) Jellison, Helena, Josh (Megan) DeZur and David DeZur, Appleton, and Holly (Seth) Tomlin, Menasha; and very dear friend who loved Austin like a grandson, Madeleine Morichetti, of Hurley.
Austin was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Dorothy Staszek; maternal grandfather, Thomas DeZur; uncles, Casimir Staszek, and David and Anthony DeZur; and aunt, Loretta DeZur.
Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held.
