LAKE GOGEBIC, Mich. - Bernadette Elizabeth (Rundell) Carlson, 84, a longtime resident of Lake Gogebic, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, Aug. 19, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Bernadette was born on Nov. 21, 1930, in Ironwood, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Vida) Rundell. She attended Luther L. Wright High School and graduated in 1949.
On Oct. 7, 1950, Bernadette married the love of her life, Donald Lloyd Carlson, at Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood.
Bernadette is survived by six children, Jody (Ed) Allen, Jane Ballone, Kurt, Carol, Rock (Kelly) and Bret (Judy Ashburn, and her children, Caitlin and Dylan), all of Lake Gogebic; three grandchildren, Josh Allen (Livia), Tanya (Wayne) Wicka and Logan Ballone; two great-grandchildren, Jayden David and Jackson Rock Wicka; four sisters, Pat (John) Bunjevac, of Ironwood, Shirley (Joe) Schibret, of Washington, Marlene (Donald) Webster, of Milwaukee, and Cyndee (Dave) Carlson, of Ironwood; numerous special nieces and nephews; and many close loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald, on Dec. 29, 2008; and her son-in-law, Andrew P. Ballone, on June 12, 2004.
In accordance with Bernadette's wishes, cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at Salem Lutheran Church, 333 E. Aurora St., in Ironwood, with the Rev. Kurt Kovanen officiating.
Following the service, lunch will be served in the church fellowship hall.
Committal service and interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.
