LORETTO, Mich. - Beverly J. Gingery, 80, of Pioneer Park Apartments, Ironwood, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, Aug. 20, 2015, at her granddaughter's home in Loretto.
The former Beverly Morse was born Dec. 5, 1934, in Greenwood, Wis., daughter of the late Ernest and Evelyn (Anderegg) Morse, and attended Milwaukee and South Milwaukee schools. She was employed at the Fannie Farmer Candy Co. in Milwaukee, George Webb's in Cudahy, Wis., and at the W.A. Krueger Co. in West Allis, Wis. making book binders. Moving to Hurley, Wis., she worked at the Hurley Holiday Inn and owned and operated the B & E Chat-A-Wyle Restaurant and Lounge on Silver Street. She then was employed in housekeeping at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Community in Ironwood for 10 years and as a cook at the Uptown Café in Ironwood until her retirement.
Beverly was a very caring and compassionate person and would do anything for anybody, always giving and never taking. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed word search puzzles and watching TV. She lived for her children and grandchildren.
She was married to Joseph Gottfried Jr. in 1950. They later divorced.
She then married Earl Gingery in 1959. He preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1995.
Surviving are two sons, Robert (Debra) Gottfried, Bessemer, and Royal Gingery, Sheboygan, Wis .; two daughters, Christine (Edward) Brown, Burlington, Wis., and Kathy (Joel) Erickson, Ironwood; five grandchildren, Roberta, Vanessa, Joseph, Brian and Matthew; two great-grandchildren, Mya and Bronx; a brother, William Jaeger, Crandon, Wis .; sister-in-law, Margaret Gingery, Hurley; brother-in-law, Dan Salzman, Racine, Wis .; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Gingery, on May 1, 1960; and sister, Donna Salzman.
At Beverly's request, there will be no services.
Private interment will be in the Hurley Cemetery.
