Serving Gogebic, Iron and Ontonagon Counties
IRONWOOD - Zak Langdon of Ironwood survived a windy day and his boss to win the Gogebic Country Club men's club championship Saturday.
He defeated Dave Chase of Ironwood 4-up in the final.
"I just played steady; I played pretty good golf all day," Langdon said. "My chipping and putting was not the best, but I just made a lot of pars and capitalized on the other person's mistakes. I just played steady. I didn't really play great, I didn't play bad, just steady golf."
That was on a day with a very strong south wind.
"You just have to make sure you make good shots and realize when you make a mistake, it's going to be exaggerated," Langdon said.
Chase is Langdon's boss at UPS. After clinching the win, Langdon joked about needing to find a new job Monday, but all seriously was fine.
