WAKEFIELD, Mich. — Genevieve V. Salo, 94, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2015.
Genevieve was born on Jan. 2, 1921, in Wakefield, a daughter of Anton and Michaline (Pieniski) Radowski. She attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1939.
On May 8, 1943, Genevieve was united in marriage to Jerome T. Salo in Wakefield.
She was a devout Catholic and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, its Altar Society and the women’s guild.
Genevieve worked at Quality Rubber Manufacturing Company Inc. in Wakefield for 13 years.
She will always be remembered as a special lady.
Genevieve is survived by her sister-in-law, Loretta Radowski, Wakefield; numerous nieces and nephews, including a faithful nephew and his wife, Mike and Nancy Ikola, Wakefield; and other loving relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerome, on Nov. 18, 1977; four brothers, John, Frank, Mike and Edward Radowski; three sisters, Mary Grasso, Elizabeth Ikola and Helen Radowski; and three siblings in infancy.
Rite of Committal will be held Monday, Sept. 21, at 10:30 a.m., at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield, with the Rev. Antony Lukka officiating. Interment will follow.
