WAKEFIELD, Mich. — Michael Thomas Ikola Jr., 50, of Wakefield, passed away suddenly Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015.
He was born on Aug. 11, 1965, in Wakefield, a son of Michael Sr. and Nancy (Powell) Ikola. Michael attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1983.
He loved his family and friends wholeheartedly.
His death is a reminder of what a huge impact one person’s life can have on a community.
Michael’s soft-spoken nature set him apart from his siblings, and it will surely be missed.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Nancy; seven siblings, Michele (Jeff) Harbison, Mary (Louie) Boetto, Missy (Bryan) Edmondson, Mindy (Stephen) Raymond, Marty (Leslie) Ikola, Melanie (Jon) Brewster and Meredith (Joe) Goodman; 14 nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his dear friend, Rick Dembowski.
Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Thomas Ikola, on Nov. 4, 1979; his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday, Sept. 25, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the American Legion Geroux Post 11, 605 River St., Wakefield.
