Karen Ann DeCremer

MARQUETTE, Mich. - Karen Ann DeCremer, 64, of Kenton, entered eternal life Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at UP Health System-Marquette.

Born April 15, 1951, in Stambaugh, a daughter of Benjamin and Violet (Madden) Manning, Karen was raised in the Trout Creek area, and was a 1969 graduate of the Ewen-Trout Creek High School.

On February 17, 1973, Karen was united in marriage to Ronald Jay DeCremer in Ewen, and together the couple made their home in Kenton where they raised their family. Karen was very caring and generous with her time and talent. She could always be depended upon to make herself available as a caregiver and friend. She was an asset to her community and often assisted with the local auxiliary pasty sales.

Karen loved life and her family was the most important aspect of her life, especially when caring for her grandchildren. Karen was a member of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Ronald; a daughter, Shana Ojala of Ahmeek; sons, Shawn DeCremer of Kenton, Kirt (Deanna) DeCremer serving with the US Air Force in Oklahoma and Korrie (Sherry) DeCremer of Kenton; her grandchildren, twins Matt and Travis Ojala, Austin Santi, Aubrey DeCremer, Kaiden and Alyssa DeCremer; a sister, Sandy (Donald) Budd of Kenton; and brothers, Jimmy (Jean) Manning of Weaverville, N.C., and Bobby Manning of Norway; several nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and a infant daughter.

Graveside services will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Ewen on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the Trout Creek American Legion Hall.
